Search for the Algolia AI Product Search Bar app in the Wix App Market and install it on your website.
When you install the app, it should automatically be added to your site.
If it isn’t, or you need to add it again, follow these steps:
Navigate to Add Element (+ icon).
Select App Widgets.
Choose the Algolia Search widget.
Simply click or drag and drop it into your desired section on the site.
Finally, make sure to Save and Publish to apply the changes to your site.
To connect to Algolia and sync your products, you first need to access the app dashboard.
You can open the dashboard in any of the following ways:
Click on the widget in the editor and select Manage.
Go to the Settings Panel and choose Set up in Dashboard.
From your Wix Dashboard, navigate to Apps and select Algolia - AI Product Search.
Once you’re in the dashboard, you can connect to Algolia application and start syncing your products.
To find the Application ID and API keys required to connect to Algolia, simply click the API Keys section in the app dashboard, and you will be redirected directly to it.
Alternatively, you can go to your Algolia account > Settings, where you will find the API Keys under the Team and Access section.
After navigating to the API Keys section in your Algolia dashboard, copy your Application ID, Search-Only API Key, and Admin API Key, and paste them into the corresponding fields in the app dashboard connection settings.
Once all fields are filled in, click the Connect to Algolia button to complete the connection.
After the connection is established, you will see options to Sync Products, Open Algolia Dashboard, and Disconnect the integration if needed.
Click Sync Products to index your store products in Algolia and wait for the process to complete. You will see a "Sync Complete!" message showing the number of products synced. Click Done.
You can customize the widget from the app settings panel. There are 8 sections available, and you can easily adjust different aspects of the widget from there.
Connection:
Here you will find the option to sync your data and an option to open the app dashboard.
Layout Themes:
This section allows you to choose how the search bar appears. There are four different themes available.
Labels:
You can edit the text used in the widget, such as the placeholder text, the “No Results” message (when no products are found), and the “Out of Stock” badge.
Search Results:
This section lets you control how search results appear. You can adjust the maximum number of suggestions (1–20), choose the layout style (Horizontal or Stack), enable search term highlighting, and decide whether product links open in a new tab. You can also choose which elements are visible in the results, such as the product image, brand, product name, description, price, and stock status.
Colors:
Here you can change the colors used in the widget, including the background color, widget text color, action color (used for hover, focus, and selection states), highlight color for matched search terms, and the stock status color for the out-of-stock badge.
Border & Spacing:
This section allows you to adjust border width, border radius, and the image size displayed in the search results.
Fonts:
You can customize the font style and size for the search input field, product titles, and product details such as price, brand, description, and badges.
Text Direction:
This option lets you choose the text direction, either left-to-right or right-to-left, depending on your language preference.
If you notice empty space, you can prevent this by using the Advanced Sizing options available in the Studio Inspector panel (right side of the editor).
Feel free to explore and personalize the widget to best suit your needs.
Don’t forget to click Save and Publish to apply your changes to the live site.
