Open the Smart Categories app dashboard. Click the blue + New Smart Category button in the top right corner to start building your rules.
In the Category Info section, fill in the basic details for your new page:
Select a Parent Category (or leave it as None to make it a main category).
Type in your Category Name and a brief Header Description.
Click the + placeholder to upload a Category Image from your site files.
Scroll down to the Category Settings section. This is where you configure how your category updates in the future by selecting a Sync Mode:
Dynamic: The category will automatically update to include new products that match your rules as you add them to your store.
Fixed: The category will lock in the current products and will not update automatically in the future.
Scroll down to the Product Rules section. This is where you tell the app which products to automatically include.
Choose whether products must match All Conditions or Any Condition.
Use the dropdown menus to create your rule (for example, select Price, then Greater than, and type in 100).
You can click + Add Another Rule to combine multiple conditions.
To make sure your rules are working correctly, look at the Preview panel on the right side of the screen and click the Refresh button. The app will scan your catalog and display all the products that currently match your conditions.
If there is a need to manually include or remove specific items from the rule-based list, scroll to the Manual Override section. Use the search bar to find an item by product name or SKU, and manually add or exclude it.
Please Note: If an item is force-excluded using Manual Override, the app requires the category to be set to Fixed mode.
Once your rules are set, scroll back to the top of the page. Toggle the Active on-site switch to the ON position. Finally, click the blue Create Category button in the top right corner to generate your new smart category!
