How to correctly format your spreadsheet to avoid display errors.

Updated over 10 months ago

The main use case of this app is to create a table from a Google Sheet. Here are some guidelines to follow in order for your table to display correctly:

1. Your table should start in cell A1. If you need data from a different part of the sheet, you will need to move your data so that it starts in A1. If this is not possible try to use a new Sheet (Tab) in the same spreadsheet.

2. Your table headers/titles need to be on the first row of the spreadsheet. If your table start below the 2nd row, it may not be detected by the app.

3. Your spreadsheet should not contain empty rows or columns. If it does, this may not be correctly detected by the app.

4. Your table should not contain merged cells. Unfortunately, we do not support merged cells.

5. Your table headers need to unique - two table headers cannot have the same name

To visualise, here are some of the most common mistakes that should be fixed:

1. Your table does not start in cell A1.

To fix, please move it to cell A1.

2. Your table headers are not on the first of row of the spreadsheet.

To fix, please remove any empty rows at the start of the table.

3. Your table contains empty (or hidden rows)

To fix, please remove any empty or hidden rows.

4. Your table contains merged cells. Unfortunately, our tool does not support merged cells.

In order to correctly display the table, you will need to unmerge your cells.

5. Your table headers need to unique.

For example, if two columns have the same value, only one of them will display. Please ensure that your column names are unique.
